Colonial comforts at Masons.

volkslife_passat-r-line_navigationMasons at Gillman Barracks offers a tranquil setting amidst lush greenery for your business endeavours. Whether you’re seated in its lavish air-conditioned hall or its picturesque al fresco dining area, your guests will surely be impressed by its colonial charm. If your lunch company happens to be particular about food choices, fret not. The restaurant serves affordable yet tantalising European cuisine with French and Singaporean influences that caters to a variety of palates. Though it’s located only about 15 minutes away from the CBD, it may be slightly tricky to find if you’re not familiar with the area. Lucky for us, we had the Discover Pro navigation system on the Passat to lead the way!

Take in the sea breeze and discuss important matters in a casual setting. Afterall, conversation flows more easily when you’re at ease. Tantalising tete-a-tete’s at Atout.

volkslife_passat-r-line_dynaudioAfter conveniently connecting our phone to the user-friendly infotainment system in the Passat via Bluetooth, we set off for our next destination with La Vie En Rose by Édith Piaf playing from its eight speakers. For a classy lunch treat that’s sure to impress your companions, try Atout at Harding Road. Previously known as Au Petit Salut, this restaurant, charcuterie and wine bar serves rustic French cuisine in a refined setting. We’d recommend the mouth-watering Duck Rillette, a personal favourite of Chef Patrick Heuberger who helms the restaurant.

Local luncheons at Jumbo Seafood, Dempsey Hill.

If you have foreign guests who are new to our sunny island, they’ll probably be interested in wanting to try out some local cuisine. For a comfortable environment to enjoy local food, we’d recommend Jumbo Seafood at Dempsey Hill. Sample their award-winning Chili Crab or even treat your guests to a wide array of mouth-watering dishes including Golden Salted Egg Yolk Prawns and Crispy Fried Baby Squid.
