Crozz over into the future.
The I.D. concept car first debuted in Paris in 2016, electrifying the world with its futuristic design and exciting technologies. A year later, the I.D. Buzz joined the brand’s all-electric range in Detroit as the 21st century’s answer to the iconic Volkswagen minibus. This year, Volkswagen introduced its first all-wheel drive to the same family – the I.D Crozz, a zero emissions crossover utility vehicle (CUV) that impressed spectators in Shanghai last month.
Featuring the dynamism of a coupé and the dominance of an SUV, the I.D. Crozz delivers an impressive 225 kW of power and can reach a top speed of 180 km/h. With just one battery charge alone, the I.D. Crozz can travel up to 500 km. And if that’s not impressive enough, its battery adopts a fast-charging system and can reach 80% of its energy capacity in just 30 minutes!
Energised for more.
Also, it covers up to 500 km on one battery charge. If you’d rather leave the driving to the very capable hands of the I.D. Crozz, simply push the Volkswagen badge on the steering wheel for three seconds to activate its autopilot mode.
Just tech it and go.
Technology is paramount when it comes to the I.D Crozz. All of its instruments and controls are fully implemented digitally. Like a smartphone on wheels, the vehicle projects important information into the driver’s visual field by augmented reality. A high air quality is always a given with its new advanced CleanAir system too! Or for a more natural breeze, simply wind down its special panoramic sunroof with a wave of your hand – it’s gesture controlled!
All about that space.
The spaciousness of the I.D. Crozz exceeds typical class standards. To ensure that space is maximised, the suspension and drivetrain modules are positioned far to the outsides of the vehicle, while the battery is fully integrated in the vehicle floor. The seat configuration also offers great flexibility should more space is required.
All excited? The I.D. CROZZ will go into production in 2020 and you can expect a whole lot more of electric vehicles from Volkswagen in the future. Meanwhile, discover more about the I.D. Crozz here:
